Important updates and reminders:

1. There is no school on Thursday & Friday and on Monday February 21st.
We are heading into the long Family Day Weekend with teachers conference on the 17th and 18th this week. 

2. Today students had a combined Health and Science presentation provided by the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation on Sun Safety.

3. Our Learning in class in a nutshell:

LA: 
Story writing and Conflict Comics
Students are creating a comic showing all 6 types of external in internal conflicts.
e.g. person versus nature / person vs supernatural / person vs self


Math:    
We started the new unit plotting points and transformation of shapes on a Cartesian Plane.
Students use the x and y coordinates of points.

Social Studies:
As part of the Black History Month every student is researching a famous person who has made a significant contribution to society. Ask your child who they chose to research and create a presentation about.


Science:

In class we are creating a slide show about our solar system.
