Dear Parents & Guardians,
In our final week of April, we are having quite a few upcoming events and assessments.
Here is the overview:
1) Walking Field Trip to Split Rock on Thursday, April 28th.
2) Math Basic Facts/Computation Assessment on Thursday, as well.
3) Spelling Test - new words on Aerodynamics on Friday
4) Pillars of Care Assembly on Friday, too. Winners will be announced later this week.
1) On Thursday, the weather is looking promising for us to go on our final visit to Split Rock at Confluence Park. I will email out the field trip letter to you tomorrow. This is part of our Health & Wellness curriculum and Indigenous Learning
2) In math, we have started the new Patterns & Relations unit, today.
Students will explore simple and multi-step patterns that increase or decrease.
In grade 6, a focus is on being able to determine the pattern rule, complete input output machines and
deduct information from visual patterns.
To prepare our students for the PAT exam and use spaced-practice we are continuing to do our 3-weekly check in on long division, multiplication and decimal math (+-/x). This week, our test is on Thursday,
