Important updates and reminders: Pillars of Care Assembly on Friday, February 25th.  => Class Winners will be announced tomorrow on the Blog. Computation Quiz (3-weekly) this Thursday. Grade 7 Open House at Sir John A Macdonald will be on Thursday, February 24th.  Our class will have their presentation in the morning and for parents there will be an online meeting at 5pm. Dear Parents & Guardians, Important updates and reminders: 1. There is no school on Thursday & Friday and on Monday February 21st. We are heading into the long Family Day Weekend with teachers conference on the 17th and 18th this week.  2. Today students had a combined Health and Science presentation provided by the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation on Sun Safety. 3. Our Learning in class in a nutshell: LA:   Story writing and Conflict Comics Students are creating a comic showing all 6 types of external in internal conflicts. e.g. person versus nature / person vs supernatural / person vs self Math:       We started the new unit plotting points and transformation of shapes on a Cartesian Plane. Students use the x and y coordinates of points. Social Studies: As part of the Black History Month every student is researching a famous person who has made a significant contribution to society. Ask your child who they chose to research and create a presentation about. Science: In class we

This is part of our Sky Science unit. In class we had a ton of fun figuring out how to access the CBE's Minecraft Education edition. I will create a classroom world in which we can peacefully coexists and build up a town together. Today we explored the Minecraft map of Calgary downtown (around Olympic Plaza and the town hall).   Dear Parents & Guardians, We are heading into a 5-day week with many learning goals and assessments. Please also scroll down to read the announcement form our. crosswalk patrol team. Reminders & Updates: 1. Social Studies Quiz on Local Government on Thursday. 2. Math assessment on types of angles and triangles on Friday. 3. Our school is participating in a reading competition "Reading: Give it a shot" once more. Similar to last year, we will track reading progress at school and at home. Please help us by filling in the tracking sheet that I am going to send home today. This sheet should travel to and from school daily during the time of the reading. For every 60 minutes read, students get rewarded with a special reading card. There are initially 24 cards to collect (and some additional ones for avid readers.) Parents – just a reminder that our  patrollers  are on duty each morning in rain, snow, and fine weather (We do not patrol on blue days).  Could you please wai

  Hello Parents & Guardians, As always, I will provide you with a quick overview of this week's updates, assessments, and learning goals. 1.
