Important updates and reminders:


  • Spelling Test tomorrow - social studies words (check my blog entry from Nov 15th for the list)
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences this Thursday and Friday. Book your spot via MyCBE/Powerschool
  • No school on Friday, November 26th
  • Pillars of Care Assembly this Wednesday, virtually. Winners will be announced on my next blog.
  • 3-weekly math check-in => scroll down for a picture of how we prepare students during morning math.


LA:

I have the pleasure to read your children's poems over the weekend and will give them personalized

feedback in class. I will also share some of my observations with you during conferences.

Don't forget to book your conference appointment with me if you have not done so already.

If you need help, please email me and I can create the link for you and email it to you.


Science:

We finally started our final Trees and Forest Projects.

In class students will have 8-9 hours to work on it. It is due by Friday, December 3rd.


Math:

Below is a picture of common types of questions found in our 3-weekly math assessment on computation, basic 4 operations involving involving decimal and whole numbers. This Thursday, we are going to have another check-in to see how much everybody has improved.

  Dear Parents & Guardians, So far most of our staff and students are still in Good Health but as we see Covid-19 infection numbers rise, I am counting on your support to assess your child's health and readiness for school attendance on a daily basis.   Dear Parent & Guardians, Today I will just send out a few reminders and some information about the Food Drive that our school is participating in. 1) Spelling Test on Math words tomorrow, Friday December 3rd. 2) Last day to work on the science project in class is tomorrow as well. 3) Tomorrow - Science Quiz on Trees and Forests (20 Questions) to cover some of the parts of the unit the current project does not cover Our School is accepting food donations (non-perishable/ dried or canned) for the Mayor's Food Drive. If you go shopping and see a deal on any items fitting the category it is greatly appreciated if you sent  them our way.  If every student only brings 1 can we will gather over 400 cans in total for Calgarians in  need.

(scroll down) As you know, we are having Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday. Please book an appointment time if you wish to receive an update on your child's learning. In class, we have started to revisit our IRIS goals which each student set in November. Students will be sharing them with you during the interview. Tomorrow and on Thursday we will reflect on these goals and see if we have progressed/ achieved them. Also, our school is once again participating in the Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser.
