Dear Parents & Guardians,

Teaching the day after Halloween is truly a spooky time.

Jokes, aside, I am glad to have seen a decent attendance in class today and

am hopeful to see students come to school at all times on time.


Updates & Reminders for this Week:

1) In class we have been going over the presentation about the upcoming vaccination on Wednesday. Students learnt about Hepatitis B & HPV and the benefits of vaccinations in the past that helped eradicate and limited the spread of diseases (e.g. small pox, polio, tetanus, etc.)

I encourage all students to have a proper breakfast that day and stay hydrated throughout the day.


2) This week we are starting our 3-weekly check-ins on math computation skills.

As part of the grade 6 PATs (Provincial Achievement Test) in Math, we are focussing on developing and improving student's confidence when solving long division, multiplication and decimal addition and subtraction problems.

3) Below are our spelling words for this week.

  Dear Parent & Guardians, Today I will just send out a few reminders and some information about the Food Drive that our school is participating in. 1) Spelling Test on Math words tomorrow, Friday December 3rd. 2) Last day to work on the science project in class is tomorrow as well. 3) Tomorrow - Science Quiz on Trees and Forests (20 Questions) to cover some of the parts of the unit the current project does not cover Our School is accepting food donations (non-perishable/ dried or canned) for the Mayor's Food Drive. If you go shopping and see a deal on any items fitting the category it is greatly appreciated if you sent  them our way.  If every student only brings 1 can we will gather over 400 cans in total for Calgarians in  need.

In class, we have started to revisit our IRIS goals which each student set in November. Students will be sharing them with you during the interview. Tomorrow and on Thursday we will reflect on these goals and see if we have progressed/ achieved them. Also, our school is once again participating in the Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser.
