Dear Parents & Guardians,

After a week away in isolation I am back in class and eager to progress our learning.

This week, students are going to learn about the following topics in the big four subject areas:

1) Science: Tree growth - Analyzing tree rings

=> There will be a short assessment check-in on Wednesday.

2) Social Studies: Rights and Responsibilities of Citizens and Government

3) Math: Decimal computation - multiplying decimals and rounding decimal numbers

4) LA: Identifying literary devices in Poems and creating our own poetry.

=> We will be writing a concrete poem

Novel Study:

I promised to share the novel study books that we are planning on reading in grade 6 this year.

My apologies for the late reply. Room 15 will start with Refugee in (mid) November. If there is enough

time we will be trying to read all three books before the end of June.

  • Refugee - by Allan Gratz
  • Touching Spirit Bear -
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - J. K. Rowling
