Our Learning in a quick overview:

Math - Long Division Practise involving whole and decimal numbers
Science - Food Webs vocabulary and analyzing interconnections
Social Studies - Intro to Local Government (mayor/ councillors / town hall meetings / voting)


LA - Poetry
As our poetry unit is coming to a close, students are demonstrating their understanding of the various styles of poems in a final project. I am providing in class time to work on improving previously written or creating new poems for about 60 min daily.
Below is an overview of the required poems and a rubric that will be used to mark them.

  Dear Parents & Guardians, So far most of our staff and students are still in Good Health but as we see Covid-19 infection numbers rise, I am counting on your support to assess your child's health and readiness for school attendance on a daily basis.   Dear Parent & Guardians, Today I will just send out a few reminders and some information about the Food Drive that our school is participating in. 1) Spelling Test on Math words tomorrow, Friday December 3rd. 2) Last day to work on the science project in class is tomorrow as well. 3) Tomorrow - Science Quiz on Trees and Forests (20 Questions) to cover some of the parts of the unit the current project does not cover Our School is accepting food donations (non-perishable/ dried or canned) for the Mayor's Food Drive. If you go shopping and see a deal on any items fitting the category it is greatly appreciated if you sent  them our way.  If every student only brings 1 can we will gather over 400 cans in total for Calgarians in  need.

Parent-Teacher Conferences this Thursday and Friday (morning) 4. No school for students on Friday 5. Jump-Rope-For-Heart Fundraiser Information 6. Updates on the story writing unit. (scroll down) As you know, we are having Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday. Please book an appointment time if you wish to receive an update on your child's learning. In class, we have started to revisit our IRIS goals which each student set in November. Students will be sharing them with you during the interview. Tomorrow and on Thursday we will reflect on these goals and see if we have progressed/ achieved them. Also, our school is once again participating in the Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser.
