Our Learning in the major 4 subject areas:
  • LA: Introduction to our novel study - Refugee by Alan Gratz
Students engaged in a quick book exploration to learn about the structure and main characters in our novel. We also discussed the setting in NAZI Germany, Cuba during the strikes of 1994 and Syria in 2015 during the Arab Spring.

  • Math: new unit Measurement - Today we reviewed the metric system and converted some basic units (mm - km)
Ask your child how many millimetres make up a cm, dm, m or km!

  • Science: Human Interactions in the forest ecosystem
In class we explored the three main human interactions with forests.
These are:
  • forestry (lumber companies, harvesting and reforestation)
  • recreation (forests as spaces for outdoor activities, tourism)
  • conservation (forests as protected natural spaces)

Have a great afternoon and stay warm and dry!
