December has arrived and just in time we had our third fire drill in the snow.

As we are heading into this last month of the year, we are also introducing our new

Pillar of the month "Humility" - Our assembly will be in the last week of school December 13th-17th.


Math - Measurement Unit

In math, we are currently calculating the perimeter and area of polygons (triangles, quadrilaterals, squares, rectangles, L-shape etc.) Today we learnt to divide the shape into rectangles to be able to calculate the area of these more complex shapes. See the example below.

LA/SCIENCE

As part of our reading goal for the School Development Plan, students read and answered questions about a text on Trees and their function. We are using Bloom's Guided questioning to engage student to answer more complex and beyond textual questions.
