Dear Parents & Guardians, Upcoming events and reminders: Spelling Test on Social Words this Friday Social Studies Assessment on Decision-Making this Friday Halloween at BHS on Friday Pillars of Care Assembly hosted by our room We have started our poetry project today. Ask your children which types of poems they are planning on including in their presentation/ project. Here is a quick overview of sample poems we learnt about in class: Ryhming Couplet Tercet Quatrain Limerick Cinquain Diamante Haiku Senryu Concrete/shape Poem Acrostic Bio Poem Ballad (We learnt this one today in class) Blue poems must rhyme. Green poems count syllables or words. Example of a Limerick: There once was a very big star Who did't know where we are He shone very bright And casted his light But he was away way too far. In social studies, we reviewed the different ways to make decisions. VOTING - CONSESUS - REPRESENTATION. This will be part of the test on Friday.
Dear Parents & Grade Six Families, It was wonderful to see so many of you during our Farewell today. My class will be surely missed once the school year ends on June 28th. Last PAT - Monday, June 20th - Math Part B (40 Questions) In case you want to set some time aside to practice, there are 2 tests assigned on Mathletics that cover the entirety of grade 6. mathletics.com Quest A+ has more PAT Math questions should you be interested.
