Dear Parents & Guardians,

With only 35 more days of teaching remaining until the end of this school year, we are picking up speed. This week, there will be two tests to finish up units in mathematics & social studies.

Next week is also the official writing PAT - exam on May the 18th. Students will be working on the stories and news reports this week during LA time. 

On Thursday, I will write all parents 7 guardians a school messenger with 2 practice writing tasks which I encourage students to do over the weekend as additional practice.

Social Studies:

In class students will present their storyboards about the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

I am also handing out the study guide to students, which can be seen below.

The quiz is mainly based on this topic and includes some previous local & provincial government questions related to decision-making & voting.

  Dear Parent & Guardians, Today I will just send out a few reminders and some information about the Food Drive that our school is participating in. 1) Spelling Test on Math words tomorrow, Friday December 3rd. 2) Last day to work on the science project in class is tomorrow as well. 3) Tomorrow - Science Quiz on Trees and Forests (20 Questions) to cover some of the parts of the unit the current project does not cover Our School is accepting food donations (non-perishable/ dried or canned) for the Mayor's Food Drive. If you go shopping and see a deal on any items fitting the category it is greatly appreciated if you sent  them our way.  If every student only brings 1 can we will gather over 400 cans in total for Calgarians in  need.

(scroll down) As you know, we are having Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday. Please book an appointment time if you wish to receive an update on your child's learning. In class, we have started to revisit our IRIS goals which each student set in November. Students will be sharing them with you during the interview.
