Dear Parents & Guardians,

Today we had our drumming celebration in the gym.

It was great to hear all grades perform their beats & rhythms.

Monday, June 23rd: Board Game Day 

Students are encouraged to bring a board or card game they would like to teach to their classmates.


I am sending home the Alberta Health "Ask an Adult" note.

This officially concludes our Human Sexuality unit.


Tuesday, June 24th: 

  • Report Cards will go live on Powerschool for you to see
  • Last day of class - We dismiss at 2:40 as usual.
  • Final Pillars of Care Assembly

For this final assembly everybody is invited to attend. 
I am sending home a note to the parents of the 5 winners for our class today.


Please send a backpack or tote bag to school tomorrow or before the last day of school.

We are doing a final desk clean and I am sending everything home.

  Dear Parent & Guardians, Today I will just send out a few reminders and some information about the Food Drive that our school is participating in. 1) Spelling Test on Math words tomorrow, Friday December 3rd. 2) Last day to work on the science project in class is tomorrow as well. 3) Tomorrow - Science Quiz on Trees and Forests (20 Questions) to cover some of the parts of the unit the current project does not cover Our School is accepting food donations (non-perishable/ dried or canned) for the Mayor's Food Drive. If you go shopping and see a deal on any items fitting the category it is greatly appreciated if you sent  them our way.  If every student only brings 1 can we will gather over 400 cans in total for Calgarians in  need.

Dear Parents & Guardians, Important updates and reminders: 1. There is no school on Thursday & Friday and on Monday February 21st. We are heading into the long Family Day Weekend with teachers conference on the 17th and 18th this week.  2. Today students had a combined Health and Science presentation provided by the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation on Sun Safety. 3. Our Learning in class in a nutshell: LA:   Story writing and Conflict Comics Students are creating a comic showing all 6 types of external in internal conflicts. e.g. person versus nature / person vs supernatural / person vs self Math:       We started the new unit plotting points and transformation of shapes on a Cartesian Plane. Students use the x and y coordinates of points. Social Studies: As part of the Black History Month every student is researching a famous person who has made a significant contribution to society.   Dear Parents & Guardians, Updates and reminders: 1. Basic Computation Quiz tomorrow (every three weeks) 2. Science Presentations will be starting 3. Parent-Teacher Conferences this Thursday and Friday (morning) 4. No school for students on Friday 5. Jump-Rope-For-Heart Fundraiser Information 6. Updates on the story writing unit. (scroll down) As you know, we are having Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday. Please book an appointment time if you wish to receive an update on your child's learning. In class, we have started to revisit our IRIS goals which each student set in November. Students will be sharing them with you during the interview. Tomorrow and on Thursday we will reflect on these goals and see if we have progressed/ achieved them. Also, our school is once again participating in the Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser.
