Dear Parents & Guardians,

This week I am taking the class outside to participate in the Walk for Chanie Wenjack.

Chanie Wenjack was a young boy who ran away from residential school in Northern Ontario.

This is part of our Indigenous Learning with ties in to Math and LA. We are recording our distance each

day and will multiply it by the number of student walkers. We will also reflect on a specific question

during and after the walk. Today's question was about the practices at residential school. By the end of the

week students will create a bar graph showing the partial and total distance of the walk.

Our Learning in the 4 Core Subject Areas today:

Math: Rounding review on decimal and whole numbers.

Social Studies: Students provided examples of equity and equality. => This will be part 2 of their social studies skit mar.

Science: Photosynthesis Investigation

LA: Using visualization as a tool when reading texts.
