Our Learning in Class:

Math:

Today we officially introduced the concept of volume.

Volume is a 3-D measurement of the space insides of a rectangular prism.

Grade 6s will have to calculate the volume of 3-D shapes (cubes and rectangular prisms) and be able

to determine the length of a missing side.

Example:

Do now: These cuboids are all made from 1 cm cubes - ppt download

Solution:

 3cm x 5cm x n = 60 cm3

15cm x n =60

60cm /15cm = 4cm

The missing side length is 4 cm.

In LA, we read along the audiobook and practiced summarizing, creating questions based on a chapter and engaging with the text by creating acrostic poems.

In science, we did a fun Kahoot quiz to learn about important terms related to our sky science unit.
