 Dear Parents & Guardians,

Here is an overview of our learning in class today and upcoming events and assessments.
  1. Tomorrow is the social studies "Charter of Rights & Freedoms" test 
  2. I have sent home study sheets with your children today. The test is comprised of
  3. PAT questions to make the familiar with the June PAT exam.
  1. My class had their first lesson with SOUND KREATIONS.
  2. We are learning a dance called "Bachata" from the Dominican Republic.
  1. In math, we did the Patterns & Table of Values assessment.
  2. Everyone did a great job and we have a high class average.
  3. I will sent the test home tomorrow with the test score and the overall unit score (black marker)/
  4. The unit grade is based on the test, as well as class observations during math periods, participation in class discussions and each student's math problem-solving skills of 2-step patterns and input output machines.
  1. Tomorrow we will be writing another news report or narrative story. Your child will choose which one they would like to submit to me for a final round of feedback. I will give them useful tips and feedback for the PAT exam next week on Wednesday.

  Dear Parent & Guardians, Today I will just send out a few reminders and some information about the Food Drive that our school is participating in. 1) Spelling Test on Math words tomorrow, Friday December 3rd. 2) Last day to work on the science project in class is tomorrow as well. 3) Tomorrow - Science Quiz on Trees and Forests (20 Questions) to cover some of the parts of the unit the current project does not cover Our School is accepting food donations (non-perishable/ dried or canned) for the Mayor's Food Drive. If you go shopping and see a deal on any items fitting the category it is greatly appreciated if you sent  them our way.  If every student only brings 1 can we will gather over 400 cans in total for Calgarians in  need.

(scroll down) As you know, we are having Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday. Please book an appointment time if you wish to receive an update on your child's learning. In class, we have started to revisit our IRIS goals which each student set in November. Students will be sharing them with you during the interview. Tomorrow and on Thursday we will reflect on these goals and see if we have progressed/ achieved them. Also, our school is once again participating in the Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser.
